This week we have been on vacation doing stuff close by. We went to the local Six Flags and then camping near another Six Flags. It has been excessively hot and all 7 of us in such close quarters all week can be trying. But I love having us all together even if it can drive me crazy.
I have to remind myself when the bickering is high and the cooperation is low that it isn’t all arguing and annoying.
The kids had fun riding rides together.
They had fun cooking hot dogs and smores over the fire.
And I had fun watching them have fun.
Sometimes I just need to sit back and look at them.
They make me happy.
And I have to remember that when they make me crazy.
I love this photo of Hubby and the boys. I love how it is my oldest stepson carrying T. Just makes me smile.

Check out this post to find out more about the Calm My Crazy meme. This weekly post is for me and for you. A place to share our moment of calm. Something that brings us a little peace and happiness in a world of crazy.

I LOVE the line about how you like to sit back and watch them and it makes you happy – and how you have to remember that when they make you crazy. I need to remember that for me!

When my daughter and I lagged behind all the boys, I just looked at them and I love those moments when my heart just fills up.

That is so true how just sitting back and soaking the moments can be so calming and centering sometimes. I love to hang outside my girls’ rooms when they are playing and just listen sometimes. They really love each other. It’s wonderful to feel that and to allow yourself to feel it.
I also think you deserve Mommy of the Year award for still going and doing all of that in over 100 degree temps! Are you even rehydrated yet?!

I like to sit and listen when they play nicely together too. Fills my heart. And no, still not rehydrated

That’s such a great picture! We are on a mini-family vacation (3 days) and it’s a mix of absolutely fun/adoration and oh-my-god-I’m-going-to-pull-my-hair-out. That’s about normal, right? But you’re right. When I look at my kids and husband together, it makes me happy and I need to remember those moments.

Sounds normal to me

I love that you gave an honest assessment of a family vacation. So many people only want to share the positives – like sharing the negatives makes them look bad. Thank you for being honest. So glad you had a great time with the family!

If I didn’t share the negatives I’d have nothing to say
