Hubby had taken A to her cheerleading practice so T and I were hanging out at home. I wasn’t feeling that great as it is has been a rough week for my head but T really wanted me to play Wii with him. I figured I could handle a little activity so I agreed.
First he wanted to play tennis. We had a nice doubles game going on except for the fact that he had accidentally used his Mii on my team so I couldn’t control it and we didn’t know why. Once we figured out the error, I whooped him in the next match.
We moved on to Frisbee golf. I must say I absolutely SUCK at Frisbee golf. T starts to talk a little trash as I repeatedly toss the stupid Frisbee out of bounds. OK, little man, IT IS ON!
He picks boxing next since he believes he is unbeatable. I sweat profusely as I box his little Mii with all I’ve got. Alas, the boy is good and apparently, I am not.
We switch to a game where you just beat each other with sticks until one falls off the platform. I KICK ASS AT THIS.
Lastly we move to baseball. I’d say we’re pretty well matched here since we both seem to either strike out or get amazing hits completely randomly.
I notice throughout our play that T puts his whole body into everything. He is totally ALL IN when it comes to play. I wonder how long it has been since I threw myself so completely into anything.
I did let go while we were playing and I really had fun. Sometimes I forget how fun it can be to just PLAY.
I told T that we needed to play Wii everyday. I need the exercise and it’s good family fun.
Here is a video of T boxing a few years back. One day I’ll beat him. Maybe.

I had the chance to play with my kids yesterday – really PLAY like you said – it may have been the first moment all summer that we did this – and it was the best. I am sorry to hear you had a rough start to the week! Cheers to good days ahead!

It’s one of those things you forget as an adult I think. Playing really is fun.

Playing Wii and Kinect with my girls is so much fun that I don’t even realize how much effort I am putting into it until I start sweating and am sore in muscles that I don’t usually use the next day.
Keep playing!! It’s fun to remember what it feels like to be a kid.

Ah that makes me want to play wii now! And the video of him was too cute. I used to do the wii fit more than wii sports and loved the hula hoop… I could never do that in real life for so long.
Have a great weekend and have fun playing.

Oh I am terrible at the hula hoop in real life and on Wii. My hips don’t move that way anymore haha
