So I have been eating a Paleo diet for 2 weeks now. I wasn’t sure what to expect aside from likely having awful detox symptoms.
The first week I didn’t really have any detox symptoms at all. The first couple of days I had bad head pain but after that it wasn’t bad. I’m used to having headaches everyday so when I had one day without any headache, I was really happy. And on the days I took medicine for my headaches, I was pleased that it didn’t come back after a few hours like usual.
I also had a better general sense of wellbeing and my anxiety was better. All good things.
The second week was good but not as good in some ways. My headaches weren’t quite as good as the first week. Still mostly better than usual but not as good as the first week. I had days where I was still pretty useless due to pain and generally feeling crappy.
So the second week has been up and down.
I was really happy one day when I actually drove on the highway without any anxiety and actually thought to myself that I felt awesome and could do anything. I can’t remember the last time I felt that.
I’m hoping for more improvement over the next 2 weeks. I’ve read you really have to go at least a month to see how it is affecting you. I will probably have to go longer.
I must admit I don’t really enjoy eating this way. So much meat and fat, it’s sorta grosses me out. But, if that is what my body wants in order to function better, who am I to argue? Time with tell.
