Well I just finished my second 5K. I haven’t moved this far since my first 5K years ago. I have done some running and walking since then but not a 5K. This time I walked the whole thing since I have pretty much done no activity for quite a while.
I missed the Diva Dash I signed up for and I was battling a terrible migraine and missed walking with Team Ben. So when my friend Greta put together the Dynamic Duel Virtual 5K #TNTDuel with Laura, I thought this would be a great opportunity to actually move.
So I printed out my bib and went walking through my neighborhood.
Less than a mile in, I started to feel the panic. I looked around and felt disoriented. I felt an overwhelming fear that I would pass out in the street. But I stopped that negative thinking right there. I slowed down and concentrated on my breathing. I have gotten pretty good at quelling the panic with breathing and I’m so glad that it worked this time and I continued to walk. I even quickened my pace as the walk went on.
Here I am right after I was able to move forward.
When all was said and done, I ended up with a total of 3.34 miles in, well let’s just say, over an hour. I am so very proud of myself and hope that I can use this as proof to myself that I can actually exercise. Duh, right?
Here is my “Hell Yeah I Finished” pic with my bib. Go #TeamUSA!
